How do we know we got to go potty?

How do we know we got to go potty?

How do we know we got to go potty?

What does our body tell us?  If we listen to our body it tells us a lot of things…
We just need to stop and listen.
  And

When it is time to eat, we feel our tummy rumble.

When it is time to sleep we yawn, and our eyes feel tired.

So what does our body tell us when we need to potty?

How do you feel before you pee?

You might feel a tingle in your tummy down low.
Your tummy might feel full and heavy when you need to pee!
When we feel the tingly or full tummy we need to…
Stop and Listen and go potty!
And      then go

How do you feel before you pooh?

When we need to pooh our body tells us too!
You might feel a rumble way down low, sometimes we get a little ache in our tummy too.
That is our body’s’ way of saying
  And      then go

Sometimes when we are learning to use the potty, and trying to hear what our body is saying,
We might have an accident in our pants. That is OK we just keep trying to hear what our body is telling us.
Then going to the potty becomes easy and fun! Going to the potty is something new and it takes some getting used to!

I know you can do it. With a little time & practice you’ll know what to do
  And      then go

YES!! WAY TO GO       Lets sing                          The Potty song

It is easy to sing it goes like this

YAY you used the potty, the potty, the potty!!!

There is a funny dance to do while you sing the potty song too.

Can you make up a silly dance to do?

The blank spot is for the child's name
