Food and Sensory Issues at the Start of School

This school year has been a pretty good one, my 7 yr old has no problems with anxiety over school this year like she did in K or 1st grade.

My 7 year old though has for the first time ever became very picky over what she will eat she can’t get past hardly any texture of food. It has caused her to loose a little weight…

So the Dr said to try creamy foods like ice creams, creamy cheeses added to soups, a vitamin drink shortly after she gets to school…

I hope this works to get her gaining weight & I hope we can push past the dislike for textures soon as this is a first for us, her not liking most things before she ate a large variety of foods   she is also cutting her molars in the way back I had wondered if that could be the problem or adding to it.  I know many moms and dads with kids on the spectrum have gone down this road and many ASD kiddo’s have this same issue… I would love to hear from you all on what you feed your picky eaters tips, tricks & recipes please :-)

Oh yeah she has a weight check on the 12th of next month she’ll also be getting the flu mist and hep A vax. So I hope she has gained the weight back by then…. Wish us luck.
